I'm grateful he has agreed to assume this additional responsibility and anticipate similar excitement and energy surrounding our men's golf program with this appointment."
Reflecting on his personal connection to golf, Coach Newton mentioned, "Some of the greatest friendship & memories of my life have been made on the golf course. I plan to support our players by sharing my 30+ years of experience and knowledge in golf as a player, rules official, and now full-time caddy for my son. We have a beautiful home course and practice facility in Boones Trace National that provides all the resources necessary for our players to improve & enjoy this great game. Off the course we will give our players the support needed to be successful in the classroom & ultimately earn a degree from our great institution, all while serving our community."
