LOUISVILLE, KY- The Mountaineers find the goal late to tie the game against the Spalding Eagles. A tightly contested and heated battle between the Mountaineers and Eagles brought out many emotions. After Tshiasuma of Spalding made the score 1-0 right before half, Berea College's Ali Fergurson capitalizes off a defensive mistake and takes the ball past eagles defenders. Ferguson takes a shot that curves underneath a defender and outside the reach of the goalie. This goal put Berea back into contention for a win at the 54th minute. However Berea was unable to rally up another goal and settle for another tie on the season. Their record is now 1-5-2 as they look to tighten up before conference play.
After Berea's last time out, the Mountaineers was able to put up 14 shots on goal and have 11 of them on goal.
Tobore Takpor was the team leader in shots and shots on goal with 5. Berea gave up 10 corner kicks and were only able to attempt 2 of them. To go along with
Roosvins Josil's second red card of the year, Berea would also commit 12 fouls.
Eris Acosta would play the entire game, racking up 10 total saves.
With conference play right around the corner, Berea College hopes to use their next game against Brevard College as a test to show their strength. The game is set for 2pm on in Brevard North Carolina.on September 22nd.
