Box Score LEXINGTON, KY- A sluggish first half doom the Mountaineers who fought hard in their first conference game against the Pioneers of Transylvania in a 5-2 defeat. Berea College could not get it together as a unit for most of the game as the Pioneers were able to score 3 goals in the first half. After several defensive miscommunications JT Rodens was able to capitalize putting two goals in on back to back possessions. A rocket from just outside the box was too high for keeper
Eris Acosta leading to a 3-0 deficit going into halftime. Just out of half, Transylvania was able to extend their lead to 4. However after struggling with defenders in the box, forward Carlos Field Bennet, was able to sneak a goa in behind the goalie to cut the lead to 3. Catching a bit of momentum,
Tobore Takpor would capitalize off of a
Tomas Gonzaga pass and head the ball past the goalie to make the score 4-2. However this would be the last time that Berea College would get a shot as the pioneers would add one more goal late to end the match with a score of 5-2.
