MOUNTAINEERS EXERCISE CONTROL WITH 2 WINS IN WEEK 11

Game 1: Mountaineers Hand Over a 71-69 Loss to Hanover College

Location: John Collier Arena, Hanover, IN
Tipping off the game at 7 PM on Wednesday, the Mountaineers faced the Panthers in a competitive matchup. Berea started strong, leading 22-19 at the end of the first quarter. The Panthers fought back in the second quarter, flipping the score to hold a narrow 20-18 lead over the Mountaineers.

After halftime, Hanover maintained their momentum, outscoring Berea 18-13 in the third quarter. However, the Mountaineers staged a strong comeback in the fourth, scoring 18 points to the Panthers' 12 and clinching the victory at 71-69. Jayden Merriweather stood out on the court, contributing 19 points and 6 rebounds, while LynKaylah James recorded a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds.

On Saturday afternoon, the Mountaineers delivered a dominant performance, securing an impressive 30-point victory over Manchester University, finishing 85-55. Berea opened strong, scoring 30 points in the first quarter compared to the Spartans' 13, and carried their energy into the second quarter with a 20-12 advantage.

Manchester struggled to regain control, scoring only 15 points in both the third and fourth quarters, while the Mountaineers added 21 and 14 points, respectively. Drea Satori dazzled on the hardwood with 21 points and 8 assists, while Jayden Merriweather followed closely with 20 points and 6 rebounds.
