MEN'S GOLF COMPETE AT HEARTLAND CONFERENCE PREVIEW AT BOONE'S TRACE NATIONAL GOLF CLUB

This past weekend, the Mountaineers were back in action at the Heartland Conference Preview held at Boone's Trace National Golf Club in Lexington, Kentucky. Saturday featured sunshine and warm 85-degree weather, but the conditions drastically changed on Sunday with pouring rain and wind gusts reaching 30–40 mph. Despite the challenging elements, the Mountaineers persevered and posted several competitive scores. Freshman Isaiah Newby led the team, finishing tied for 35th with rounds of +8 and +13. Close behind was Benjamin Parsons, who finished tied for 41st with rounds of +13 and +11. The team also included Joshua Decker (+42 over two rounds), Zach Hudson (+47), his brother Braden Hudson (+59), and junior Corbin Thacker (+65). The Mountaineers also introduced two new players for their first tournament of the season: freshman Dylan Howard, who scored +79, and junior Juan Pabey, who finished with a +96. With the fall season now concluded, the Mountaineers are looking forward to resuming competition in the spring semester.
