Berea College Women's Cross-Country Competes in Blue and Silver Divisions at Blue & Silver Invitational
The Berea College Women's Cross-Country team competed across two divisions at the Blue & Silver Invitational this past weekend, showcasing both their upperclass leadership and young talent. Racing against a competitive multi-division field, the Mountaineers fielded teams in the Women's 6K Blue and Women's 5K Silver races, earning valuable experience and strong performances.
Women's 6K Blue Race
In the 6K Blue Division, Berea finished 45th overall with a team score of 1,262 points, racing against a deep lineup of NCAA Division I, II, and III programs.
Senior Madison Stonestreet once again led the Mountaineers with a strong 44th-place finish in 22:58.1, continuing her standout season. Senior Carah Anteck followed in 293rd (26:59.5), with Junior Chrystal Cornwell close behind in 302nd (27:28.8). Senior Brooke Donley placed 304th (27:57.8), and Freshman Nika Davenport rounded out the team's top five in 319th (31:47.6).

Women's 5K Silver Race
In the 5K Silver Division, Berea placed 23rd overall with a total team time of 2:06:32 and a score of 630 points. Competing among over 20 programs, the Mountaineers' mix of veterans and first-year runners gained valuable racing experience.
Junior Ashley Bailey led the way for Berea with a 110th-place finish in 23:34.5. Freshmen Fortune Baguma and Remas Tutu followed in 124th (24:32.0) and 129th (25:41.1), respectively, while Sophomore Erika Maldonado added a strong 126th-place finish (24:47.0). Senior Carah Anteck completed the scoring group in 141st (26:59.5).

The Mountaineers demonstrated growth and determination across both divisions, with upperclass leadership setting the tone and younger runners gaining key collegiate experience. Berea will look to build on these performances as the season continues.
