Berea College started the season strong with a 68-59 victory over Asbury on November 11 at the Seabury Center. The Mountaineers controlled the first half, taking a 31-21 lead into the break, and maintained steady momentum throughout the second half to secure the win.

Bryce Riley delivered a dominant performance, posting 24 points and 11 rebounds while shooting 8 of 16 from the field and 4 of 8 from three. Jae'dyn Gist added 8 points and 7 rebounds, going a perfect 8 of 8 at the free throw line. Zach Hudson and Anthony Hamm each contributed 8 and 6 points respectively, while Jack Ngog and Jaylen Black provided important bench production with 6 and 5 points. Berea's depth proved crucial, as the bench combined for 32 points, including key defensive stops and transition plays.
The Mountaineers now turn their attention to their first road test, traveling to Cookeville, Tennessee, to face Tennessee Tech University on November 13.
