Berea College Women's Basketball Splits Week, Falls to Hanover but Wins Double Overtime Thriller Against Anderson
The Berea College women's basketball team faced two tough match ups this week, opening with a road contest against Hanover on December 3 before returning home for a dramatic double-overtime victory against Anderson on December 6.
Game One: Berea at Hanover University (52-62)
Location: Hanover, IN
Berea began the week on the road, falling 52–62 to a disciplined and efficient Hanover squad. Berea would struggle from behind the arch only connecting on 4 of 22 three point attempts. Despite the loss, the Mountaineers saw strong individual performances. Lynkaylah James continued her standout season, recording 16 points and 11 rebounds to secure another double-double.
Joyce Mukalamusi nearly posted one of her own, finishing with 9 points and 9 rebounds, while
Atyia Moss added 7 points, 4 rebounds and shot 100% on her free throw attempts to round out Berea's top contributors.

Game Two: Berea vs Anderson University (91-88)
Location: Berea, KY
The Mountaineers returned to Berea for their second game of the week, delivering one of their most exciting performances of the season—a 91–88 double-overtime victory over Anderson. The back and fourth battle was intense from start to finish, with multiple players stepping up in big moments. Berea found themselves down double digits at multiple points in the first half thanks in help to Anderson's Syndney Sierota and Lauren Smith.Berea would fight back to the gain the lead in the fourth quarter but was unable to hold off clutch shots from the Ravens. Berea's defense would show up in the second overtime halting any possible scoring to secure another home win. Lynkaylah James once again anchored Berea's effort on both ends, dominating the boards with 22 rebounds while adding 15 points.
Ariyana Sutton provided a major spark, recording 13 points and 8 rebounds, and
Payton Bugg matched her with 13 points and 5 boards.
Joyce Mukalamusi added 12 points, continuing her steady production in the lineup. Neveah Bates also played a key role, contributing 14 points in the balanced offensive effort. One of the most impressive performances of the afternoon came from senior
Madison Howell, who knocked down five three-pointers on her way to 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 steals, helping Berea keep pace throughout the extended matchup.
