SOFTBALL WEEK 7 RECAP

Game 1: Berea Travels to Indiana to Face Earlham
Location: Richmond, IN

Berea traveled to Richmond, Indiana to play against the Earlham Quakers. The game started with Berea scoring 2 runs in the top of the first inning. Earlham responded with 3 runs at the bottom of the first. Neither team scored in the second inning, but Earlham added 3 more runs in the bottom of the second. The third inning was quiet for both teams, remaining scoreless. In the fourth inning, Berea struggled offensively, and Earlham dominated with 7 runs at the bottom of the inning. The game ended with a final score of Berea 2, Earlham 13. Key players for Berea included Emily Searcy and Mackenzie Howell.

Game 2: Berea Continues in Indiana to Face Earlham Again
Location: Richmond, IN

In the second game of the day, starting at 5:30 PM, Mia Thomas pitched for Berea. The game started slowly, with no runs scored in the first inning. Earlham capitalized early, scoring 10 runs in the bottom of the first. Berea did not score in the next three innings. Earlham added 3 more in the second and 1 in the fourth. Berea scored their only run of the game in the fifth inning, thanks to Mia Thomas. The game concluded with a score of Earlham 14, Berea 1. Defensively, Kyla Simmons, Maya Meads, and Emily Searcy contributed.

Game 1: Berea Battles Bluffton on Home Turf
Location: Berea, KY

Berea faced Bluffton in a game that ended in a 1-12 loss. Both teams remained scoreless through the first inning. Bluffton then surged ahead with 1 run in the second and 4 in the third. Berea scored their lone run in the bottom of the fourth inning, trailing 2-1. Both teams remained scoreless in the fifth and sixth innings. Bluffton extended their lead with 5 runs in the seventh inning, while Berea remained scoreless. Josie Hollingsworth scored Berea's only run.

Game 2: Narrow Loss to Bluffton, 0-5
Location: Berea, KY

In the second game of the day against Bluffton, Berea started slow. Both teams remained scoreless through the first three innings. Bluffton scored 2 runs in the fourth, and no runs in the fifth. Bluffton added 1 run in the sixth and 2 in the seventh, ending the game with a 5-0 victory over Berea. Mackenzie Howell fielded well, and Mia Thomas pitched throughout the game.
