Berea College Baseball vs. Manchester University (April 26–27)
Location: Wyatt Field, Berea, KY
Game 1 (April 26):
Berea narrowly lost a close 5–4 game. The Mountaineers fought back from an early deficit with a strong sixth inning that briefly gave them the lead. J. Junta doubled and drove in a run, and T. Palmgren added a two-bagger with an RBI. P. Torbicki and J. Brown contributed key hits. On the mound, Junta pitched 7.2 innings but took the loss after surrendering five runs (four earned). S. Blackwell closed out the game in relief.
Game 2 (April 26):
In a high-scoring contest, Berea fell 10–8. J. Junta powered the offense with a grand slam in the seventh inning, his sixth RBI of the day. T. Yates added a solo home run and two RBIs, while J. Brown posted a multi-hit performance. Despite a late rally, Berea couldn't overcome Manchester's four-run eighth inning. Ni. Madrid took the loss in relief, and P. Torbicki also pitched for Berea.
Game 3 (April 27):
Manchester dominated the series finale, winning 15–1. Berea took an early 1–0 lead after A. Wylie doubled and scored on a groundout by R. Serra, but Manchester answered with 15 unanswered runs. J. Junta, A. Wylie, and J. Nunez each had a single hit for Berea. S. Gomez suffered the loss on the mound, while Manchester collected 15 hits and drew 11 walks. Berea's bullpen struggled with command, allowing additional free passes and key hits.
The Mountaineers will travel to Franklin, IN, for a three-game series at Franklin College on May 2–3.
