WOMEN'S SOCCER WEEK 3 RECAP

Game 1: Berea Falls to Asbury University 5-0
The Berea College women's soccer team traveled to Wilmore, KY, on September 10 to face Asbury University. Despite a competitive effort, the Mountaineers were unable to contain the Eagles' attack, falling 5-0. Asbury opened the scoring in the 9th minute through Hannah Muncie, followed by Eva De Sousa in the 28th. In the second half, Anna Sparks, Payton Ardery, and another goal from De Sousa sealed the result. Berea managed six shots with one on target, while goalkeeper Elana Horne tallied eight saves under heavy pressure.

Game 2: Berea Narrowly Defeated by Salem (NC) 3-2
On September 14, Berea traveled to Winston-Salem, NC, to take on Salem College. The match was tightly contested, with the Spirits edging out a 3-2 victory. Salem's Darilyn Nieto netted twice in the first half before Berea answered through Jocelyn Santiago in the 36th minute, assisted by Lily Arreola. Jessica Powell brought the Mountaineers level in the 54th minute, but Nieto completed her hat trick in the 72nd to secure the win. Berea outshot Salem 18-10, forcing eight saves from the opposition, while goalkeeper Addison McLaughlin recorded five saves of her own.
