Berea Women's Basketball Bounces Back with Two Home Wins
Berea College women's basketball rebounded from last week's split to go 2–0 at home, posting key conference victories over Hanover and Rose-Hulman.
Game 1: Mountaineers vs Hanover
The week began on Wednesday, January 21, with a hard-fought 73–68 win over Hanover. Madison Howell led the charge, scoring 24 points, hitting six three-pointers, and hauling in 11 rebounds. LynKaylah James added a dominant 20 points and 17 rebounds, while Payton Bugg contributed nine points and Ariyana Sutton chipped in 12 points. The Mountaineers pulled away late, holding Hanover at bay down the stretch to secure the win.
Game 2: Mountaineers vs. Rose-HulmanÂ
Berea carried that momentum into Friday January 23, defeating Rose-Hulman 68–51. James continued her strong play with 23 points and 11 rebounds, while Atyia Moss added 15 points and five assists. Howell again contributed in multiple ways with eight points and 11 rebounds, helping the Mountaineers control the boards and dominate the second half.
