Berea College women's basketball wrapped up its season this week, going 1–1 in back to back games against Mount St Joseph University.
The Mountaineers closed out their regular season at home on February 18 with a commanding 61–41 victory over Mount St. Joseph.
LynKaylah James led the way with a double-double, finishing with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
Madison Howell was efficient on the night as well, shooting 4-7 beyond the arc, adding 12 points and eight rebounds. Gaurd
Atyia Moss also scored 12 points while
Ariyana Sutton chipped in seven points as Berea controlled the game from start to finish.
Berea turned around to host Mount St. Joseph again in the conference tournament, where the Mountaineers battled into overtime. Despite leading going into halftime, the Lions of MSJ had a strong third quarter, scoring 20 points and forced Lyknaylah James to score a tying bucket as time expired in the fourth quarter. In overtime Berea would fall to a final score of 72-64.
Joyce Mukalamusi delivered a standout performance in this final game, going 11-24 with 24 points and eight rebounds.
Payton Bugg contributed 14 points and seven rebounds, and
LynKaylah James recorded another fitting double-double with 13 points and 15 rebounds. Despite this hard-fought effort, Berea's season came to an end in the extra period.
