WOMEN'S TRACK AND FIELD WEEK 2 RECAP

The Berea College Women's Track Team delivered an outstanding performance at the MSJ Alumni Open, earning 1st place overall out of 9 teams. The team made a strong statement to open the season, showing depth, determination, and competitive strength that sets a powerful tone for the rest of the year.

Several athletes stood out as top leaders at the meet:
  • Oriana Perez Peña (Freshman) – 6th place in the 60m (8.54), 3rd place in Long Jump (4.84m)
     
  • Katerina Kovalevskaya (Junior) – 1st place in the 200m (27.86) 
     
  • Kristin Fischli – 1st place in the 400m (1:01.30)
     
  • Madison Stonestreet – 2nd place in the mile (5:26.70), 2nd place in the 800m (2:30.56)
     
  • Jasiella Grandy – 3rd place in the 3000m (12:10.39)
     
  • Jaleesa Herman – 9th place in the 60m hurdles (11.92)
     
  • Arianna Cooper – 2nd place in Long Jump (5.08m) and 1st place in Triple Jump (10.51m)
     
Relay Performances: Overall, the women's team demonstrated exceptional talent, teamwork, and momentum that will carry into the rest of the season. Their performance at the MSJ Alumni Open reflects both individual excellence and strong team depth.

Up next: The Berea Women's Track Team will travel to compete at the Centre Indoor Invitational and Multi's Meet on February 13-14 , 2026. They will look to build on personal records and maintain their stride as the HCAC championship are quickly approaching.
