Men's T&F Competes at HCAC Outdoor Championships Lexington, KY – April 23–25, 2026
The Berea College men's track and field team delivered an impressive performance at the HCAC Outdoor Championships, finishing 7th in the final team standings, highlighted by multiple event victories, strong finishes on the track, and key contributions in field events.
Berea's top performances came in the hurdles and relays. Senior Robert Russell captured 1st place in the 400-meter hurdles (55.09), while freshman Jaylin Drummer added a strong 4th-place finish in the same event. The Mountaineers also dominated the 4x400 relay, as Arphaxad Nyabuto, Austin Gatewood, Jackson Gunter, and Gloire Muzeba claimed 1st place (3:22.76).
On the track, junior Gloire Muzeba led Berea in the 400 meters with a 4th-place finish (49.95), followed closely by freshman Jackson Gunter, who placed 5th. In the sprints, freshman Thomas Vaughn reached the finals of the 200 meters and placed 6th (22.25).
In the field events, Vaughn also led Berea with a 7th-place finish in the long jump (6.72m), while freshman Teancum Palmer added a 7th-place finish in the triple jump (12.76m).
