Mountaineers Open 2026 Season at Hanover Invitational
HANOVER, Ind. — The Berea College women's cross country team opened its 2026 season Saturday at the Hanover Invitational, with four Mountaineers competing in the 5K.
E Chambers led Berea, finishing 21st overall with a time of 22:56.1. Chambers averaged approximately 7:23 per mile in her season-opening performance. Gwenizah Barcinas followed closely behind, finishing 26th overall in 23:35.8 with an average pace of approximately 7:36 per mile.
Shyanne Powell finished 54th overall with a time of 28:04.0, while Abi Rice rounded out the Berea runners, finishing 58th in 29:01.0.
Berea Results
With four runners competing, Berea did not record a team score at the invitational. The Mountaineers gained valuable early-season experience and will look to continue building throughout the fall.
Berea returns to competition September 19 at the Mike and Mary Johnson Classic in Berea.
