Berea Women's Soccer Earns Draw to Close Three-Game Road Trip

ST. LOUIS — The Berea College women's soccer team wrapped up a three-game road swing this week, picking up its first draw of the season against the University of Health Sciences & Pharmacy following a pair of hard-fought matches on the road.

Match 1: Kentucky Christian 4, Berea 2

Sept. 16 | Grayson, KY

Berea opened its road trip on Wednesday night with one of its strongest offensive performances of the season against Kentucky Christian University. The Mountaineers set the tone early in the attack, recording 12 total shots—including 10 on goal—compared to just five shots from KCU.

Jaelynn Kemper put Berea on the board off an assist from Addie McLaughlin, while Tehya Durst added another goal following a setup from Jasmine Baird. Despite Berea controlling the offensive flow and creating the majority of scoring chances, Kentucky Christian capitalized on its opportunities to secure a 4–2 victory.

Match 2: Blackburn College 1, Berea 0

Sept. 19 | Carlinville, IL

The Mountaineers traveled to Illinois on Saturday afternoon to face Blackburn College. Berea once again dictated the tempo, outshooting the Beavers 11–4 (7–2 on goal) and holding a dominant 9–2 advantage in corner kick opportunities.

Blackburn converted its lone penalty kick opportunity of the match, which ultimately proved to be the difference maker in a 1–0 result. Despite the loss, Berea consistently limited Blackburn's open-play chances while building pressure on the attack.

Match 3: Berea 1, UHSP 1

Sept. 20 | St. Louis, MO

Berea closed out its non-conference road trip Sunday against the University of Health Sciences & Pharmacy. The Mountaineers battled through 90 minutes of back-and-forth action to earn a 1–1 draw, marking their first tie of the 2026 season.

Jessica Powell provided the offensive spark, scoring Berea's lone goal of the match to ensure the Mountaineers capped off the three-game swing with a point on the road.
