Women's Soccer Drops Season Opener to Asbury at Home 

BEREA, Ky. — The Berea College women's soccer team officially kicked off its 2026 campaign on Saturday afternoon, dropping a 0–2 decision to Asbury University in its home opener.

The Eagles struck early, netting the opening goal in the 12th minute to claim an early lead. Asbury controlled much of the possession throughout the afternoon, limiting the Mountaineers' ability to generate sustained dangerous build-up play in the attacking third.

The Berea backline remained under pressure but continued to fight off several threats to keep the squad within striking distance. However, Asbury managed to double its advantage with an insurance strike in the 66th minute to seal the non-conference result.
