Frank Pufall

Frank Pufall serves as the Head Baseball Coach at Berea College, taking over leadership of the Mountaineers program in November 2021. He brings extensive collegiate coaching experience across Division II and Division III levels to Berea's athletic department.

Frank coaching

Pufall played collegiately at Vanderbilt University, earning his degree in 1999. Prior to coming to Berea, he served for five years as Head Coach at the University of Wisconsin-Superior, where he led the Yellowjackets to an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) championship and mentored 13 All-UMAC selectees, 17 UMAC All-Academic honorees, and three all-region athletes. His coaching background also includes stints as an assistant coach at the University of Minnesota–Duluth (NCAA Division II) and Northland College. During his time at UMD, he coached 2016 NCAA Division II Player of the Year and MLB draft pick Alex Wojciechowski, along with two other players who signed professional contracts.
 

At Berea, Pufall oversees all aspects of the baseball program, including player development, recruiting, and game strategy. In his debut season with the Mountaineers, he led the team to a single-season school record for stolen bases (77).
