Angela Dean

Coach Angela Dean was named Head Coach of the Berea College Softball program in January 2022.

In addition to her head coaching duties, Dean serves as an Athletics Communications and Events Assistant within the athletics department.

Before joining Berea, Angela Dean spent 24 years coaching collegiate softball. She spent two years as an assistant coach at the University of the Cumberlands, followed by 21 years as the head coach of the Patriots. She also served one year as the head coach at Asbury University. During her tenure at Cumberlands, Dean led her team to the 2017 NAIA National Tournament, captured two Mid-South Conference Tournament Championships, and was named Mid-South Conference Coach of the Year.

Dean played softball for the Patriots from 1985-1989, earning all-league honors on the KIAC and KWIC teams. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Science Education from the University of the Cumberlands.

Angela currently resides in Mount Vernon with her four dogs—Piper, Scrappy, Roo, and Bandit.
