Berea College

Angela Dean was named Head Coach of the Berea College softball program in January 2022. 

Dean brought 24 years of collegiate coaching experience to Berea. Her extensive background includes two seasons as an assistant coach at the University of the Cumberlands, followed by 21 seasons as the head coach of the Patriots. During her head coaching tenure at Cumberlands, she guided her program to the 2017 NAIA National Tournament, captured two Mid-South Conference Tournament Championships, and was named Mid-South Conference Coach of the Year. Along with her softball duties at Cumberlands, she also contributed to the volleyball program, serving eight seasons as an assistant coach and one season as head coach. Prior to joining Berea, she spent one season as the head coach at Asbury University.

A former student-athlete, Dean played softball for the Patriots from 1985 to 1989, earning All-KIAC and All-KWIC conference honors. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Science Education from the University of the Cumberlands.

Angela resides in Mount Vernon with her four dogs: Piper, Scrappy, Roo, and Bandit.
