Berea College

Dr. Christopher Adams serves as Associate Professor of Biology and the Faculty Athletic Representative at Berea College. A broadly trained botanist specializing in plant autecology (plant population biology), he brings years of academic expertise and active mentorship to the biological sciences department and the athletic program.

Dr. Adams earned a B.S. in Biology (1998) and a Ph.D. in Botany (2003) from the University of Kentucky. His research focuses heavily on seed ecology, including seed dormancy, seed germination, and seedling establishment and survivorship.

At Berea, Dr. Adams teaches General Botany, Dendrology, Ecology, and Conservation Biology. In addition to his classroom and research responsibilities, he serves as the Faculty Athletic Representative, advocating for student-athletes and supporting academic and athletic integration across Mountaineer sports programs.
