Men's soccer looses on the road to Transylvania University 6-0.

The Mountaineers struggled offensively in their opening game today at Transylvania University's Pat Deacon Stadium, eventually falling 6-0.  The Blue Crew took the opening position and nearly scored off a header by Jesse Massucco that was blocked.  From there, it was all Pioneers as they scored at the five goals in the opening half.

Berea College could not find the back of the net despite taking eight shots, with two on goal - one by junior Josiah MacMillan and one by freshman Joshua Bowman.  Freshman goalkeeper Garrison Wagner faced a barrage of Pioneer shots (15 total, with seven on goal) including a hat-trick by Brad Chidester, who scored three times in less than six minutes late in the first half.

The Mountaineers won't have to wait long for their next taste of action, as they play Hanover in the finale of the Transylvania University Classic at 5:00 pm on Sunday in Lexington.
