Box Score Days after a frustrating loss on the road, the Berea College Mountaineers returned to the friendly confines of the Roland Wierwille court for a match up with the Knights of Kentucky Christian University (6-14).
On Saturday, BC struggled in the first half in all phases of the game. That would not be the case tonight as the Mountaineers came out the gates fast jumping out to a 6-0 lead. The BC defense held the Knights scoreless for the first four minutes of the game. BC led by as many as 13 points in the half, before the Knights finally got their long range game adjusted to close the gap down to just four points. A series of KCU fouls, allowed BC to regain control of the period taking a 13 point lead to the locker room.
In the second half the Mountaineers bench depth allowed BC to take complete control. Between fatigue and foul trouble the Knights could not keep up there long rang assault. BC's full court, man to man press created six turnovers in the second half, while the Blue Crew's offense heated up as their shooting rose to 55% and stretched the lead to as many as 31; eventually winning 97-72.
The Mountaineers (11-3) were led by another double-double from London Moore who scored 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Daishon Robinson dropped in 16 points, Richard Parker added 15 and Seth Beckham chipped in 13 points. The most impressive stat of the night was on Berea's 39 field goals, 29 came with an assist as the BC ball movement was excellent.
BC will be back in action on Saturday when they host Asbury University at 3:00 pm in the Seabury Center.
