Berea Dominates Agnes Scott on the Road

Decatur, GA- The women's basketball team traveled to Agnes Scott to take on the Scotties, Sunday afternoon. The Mountaineers won the battle against, their conference opponent, Agnes Scott with a score of 77-47. The win brings the record of the Mountaineers to 5-2, with an away record of 3-1.
 
The Mountaineers came prepared to take home another conference win for their season. Berea came out strong in the first quarter, not giving the Scotties a chance. Kiley Barnard led the team in scoring during the first quarter, with nine points, which ended with Berea leading 25-10. Going into the second quarter, Berea maintained the lead over Agnes Scott. Even though the Scotties outscored the Mountaineers 15-13 in the second, it was not enough for them to conquer the lead Berea had made. They went into halftime with a score of 38-25.
 
The Mountaineers came out strong yet again in the third quarter. Briana Lanham led the team in scoring with nine points, and the quarter ended with the Mountaineers leading 63-34. The fourth quarter was another close one, but Berea had too big of a lead for the Scotties to overcome. The game came to an end at a score of 77-47, and the Berea women's basketball team bringing home another conference win.
 
Berea out rebounded Agnes Scott 56-38, while the Scotties had 26 turnovers compared to the Mountaineers 17.
 
The Mountaineers will be on the road again Monday at 1:00pm. They will be facing off against Huntingdon in Montgomery, Alabama for a conference matchup.
