LAGRANGE, GA. – The Mountaineers comeback attempt fell just short to LaGrange College 78-72. The young Mountaineers almost capped off an incredible comeback, trailing as much as 20-points in the 1st half. The Mountaineers continue to become stronger as the season goes on, this time improving on the defensive side of the ball as well by limiting the Panther's high-octane offense to just 78 points. This has been the closest game of the season for the Mountaineers.
The Mountaineers were again led by Freshman Trey Minter (Louisville, KY), who had a team high 20 points and 4 rebounds. Minter was 6-15 from the field, also going 8-9 from the charity stripe. The Mountaineers were down 20-points at the 10:17 mark of the 1st half, however the Young Mountaineers did not quit, ending the 1st half only trailing 7.
