Berea, KY – When the USA South Athletic Conference announced their end-of-season award winners Thursday afternoon, three Mountaineer men's soccer players made the list.
Junior
Christoff Mendy (Griffin, GA) was named First-Team West Division as a Defender. Mendy started 13 games for Berea this fall, accruing 1,050 minutes of playing time, and chipped in an assist. He was joined on the list by senior
Junior Gyamfi (Westerville, OH), who was selected to the Second-Team West Division as a Midfielder. Gyamfi started all 15 games and led the Mountaineers in minutes played (1,271) and goals scored (6).
Freshman
Julio Vargas-Aguilera (Candler, NC) rounded out the list of honorees for Berea, being named to the All-Sportsmanship Team. Vargas-Aguilera appeared in 11 games throughout his first season in the blue and white, scoring one goal and adding three assists.
The men's soccer team finished the fall 2021 campaign with a record of 2-12-1.
