DEMOREST, GA. – The Mountaineers fell to Piedmont College 81-66 to end the season series with the Lions. Freshman Trey Minter (Louisville, KY) continues his offensive dominance against the USA South, scoring his 7th straight game with 20+ points.
The Mountaineers were led by Freshman Trey Minter (Louisville, KY), who had a season high 34 points the night before, continued his scoring frenzy with 22-points in the game. Minter was 8-18 from the field, also going 2-7 from beyond the arc. Minter also added 6 rebounds. Behind Minter was senior Terique Miller, who scored 20-points and added 3 rebounds and 3 assists. Minter and Miller accounted for over 60% of the offensive production for the Mountaineers.
The Piedmont College Lions were led by a trio of players who scored 15 points, Ryan Jolly, Jordan Foote, and Andrew Stimpson. The trio also added 7, 9, and 6 rebounds as well respectively.
The Mountaineers kept the game close for the majority of the 1st half, however, once again the Lions shut down the Mountaineers offense to end the 1st half, ending the half with a 14-point lead.
Up next, the Mountaineers will play at home against Brevard College for the 1st game of the two game home series for the weekend of 2/27 and 2/28. Tipoff is slated for 4:00 PM on Saturday and 12:00 PM on Sunday.
