Maryville, TN-- The Berea College Volleyball team travelled down to Maryville College in a mid-week USA South Conference match-up. The Mountaineers were unable to defeat the reigning USA South Conference Champions on the road and fell 3-1.

HOME HEADLINE – The Mountaineers drop 2 straight on the road to start out the season
HOST HEADLINE– After falling behind 12-6 in the 4^th set, the Scots rallied back to close out the game
POSITIVES – Berea played a very competitive game, pushing the defending champions to 4 sets

Top Performances for Berea
- Adrienne Roberts continues to add to her impressive career assist totals with 29 on the game. She was also very efficient with her attacks, having a 25% kill rate.
-Freshman Deanna De La Torre again shines for the Mountaineers, leading the Mountaineers with 15 kills.
-Transfer newcomer Fabiana De'Jesus continues to be a mainstay in the Mountaineers defense as the team's libero, recording 27 digs and 4 assists.  
 
Key Stats:
-Maryville recorded 17 serve assists, uncharacteristic for the defending USA South Champions.  
-The Mountaineers were strong on defense, recording 93 digs over the Scots 83.
