The Berea College Men's soccer team suffered a loss against Harrodsburg at home Tuesday, Sep, 28
th. It was a hard-fought match but our Mountaineers came out very flat in the first half, this resulted in losing the half 3-0. The first goal was conceded in the 16
th minute and was scored by Brandon Ballard. Right after this, our Mountaineers gave up a tough penalty call in the 20
th minute which was put in the back of the net by Mark Haselden. The last goal was scored by Brandon Ballard which ended up being his second and last goal of the match in the 21
st minute. After this scoring frenzy, our Mountaineers stepped up their game and ended up putting up 11 shots alone in the first half.Â
After the devastating first half, Berea picked it up with
Max Jr. scoring right at the beginning of the half in the 49
th minute with a beautiful assist from Freshman
Julio Vargas-Aguilera. Both teams were fighting very hard then
Junior Gyamfi puts one in the back of the net assisted by
Christoff Mendy. The mountaineers outplay Harrodsburg but just weren't able to pick up the win, our Mountaineers outshot the Pioneers 22-8 but just had trouble capitalizing on opportunities. Our Mountaineers play against conference rival Huntington on October 2
nd, this Saturday.Â
