ANDERSON, Ind. – The Berea College Indoor Track and Field Team had a great outing at the Anderson University Invite on Saturday.
The men's team came away with a fifth-place finish in the team rankings, while the women's landed in ninth place.
Berea had a pair of Mountaineers finish in the top-two of the men's 3000-meter run as junior
Luke Wilson crossed the finish line first with a time of 8:56.06 and right behind him was senior
Avery Fair at 8:57.79 for second place.
Luke Wilson also had another first-place performance as he was the first to cross the finish line for the men's 800-meter run with a time of 2:03.08.
Sophomore
Larry Branch had another fantastic outing for the Mountaineers as he placed seventh in the men's long jump with 5.92 meters. Three other Mountaineers placed in the top-20 as sophomore
Caleb Wilson finished 14th (5.53 meters), senior
Junior Gyamfi placed 17th (5.06 meters), and freshman
JC Ozor finished 18th (5.03 meters).
Sophomore
Cameron Bridgeman earned a seventh-place finish in the men's 60-meter dash with 7.21 seconds, while on the women's side freshman
Mimi Moore recorded an 8.47-second completion for 12th place.
Freshman
Summer Bahr recorded a ninth-place performance (12:15.78) in the women's 3000-meter while her teammates freshman
Liberte Mack and freshman
Rebekah Joyal finished eighth (1:53.88) and ninth (1:53.94) in the women's 600-meter, respectively.
In the women's long jump, freshman
Jakeisha Lewis grabbed fourth place with 4.76 meters, while in the women's shot put freshman
Elise Kemp set a personal record with 8.96 meters, giving her a 14th place finish.
The Berea College indoor track and field team will have a week break before competing in the Wittenberg University Invitational on Feb. 19 in Springfield, Ohio.
