LEXINGTON, Ky.- The Berea College men's soccer team's winning streak came to an end in a 1-1 tie against Transylvania University on Wednesday evening.
The Mountaineers sit at 3-1-2 on the season.

Junior Gyamfi scored the lone goal for Berea. The Mountaineers put up eight total shots in the match, seven of which were on goal. Freshmen goalkeeper
Eris Acosta had another great game for Berea as he recorded 12 saves.
The Pioneers took the advantage early in the match as Transylvania's Henry Roetker put the opposition in front in the 5th minute. Senior
Max Jr. tried to even the contest in the 29th minute, however, the Pioneers goalkeeper made a great save as Berea trailed 1-0 going into the half.
The Mountaineers continued to look for the equalizer in the second half, as Berea fired off five shots over the course of the half until Gyamfi's strike finally landed in the 87th minute to notch the match 1-1. The Pioneers looked as if they were about to seal the match in the 89th minute, but Acosta stepped up to the challenge with a save to keep the contest even.
The Mountaineers will be back in action on their home pitch on Saturday, September 17 against Franklin College. Kickoff is slated for 1:00 p.m. at the Berea College Soccer Field.
