Box Score BEREA, Ky. -The Berea College women's basketball continues their undefeated streak in the Collegiate South Conference as they pass by the Covenant College Scots 68-47 on Wednesday afternoon.
The Mountaineers improve their record to 18-1 on the season and 10-0 in conference play. The win expands their win streak to seven games and Berea is undefeated at home, sitting at 7-0.
Berea had four players in double figures with junior
Aaliyah Hampton leading the way with 14 points, six rebounds, and three steals. Freshman
LynKaylah James scored 12 points and grabbed nine boards. Sophomores
Drea Satori and
Jayden Merriweather both recorded 11 points to help the Mountaineers.
Berea's tough defense forced Covenant to turn the ball over 26 times and they scored 20 points off of those turnovers. Both teams fought hard for rebounds, but Berea came out on top with 40 to Covenant's 37. The Mountaineers scored 15 second-chance points from their 18 offensive rebounds.
 After James's huge offensive board and put back 3 minutes into the first quarter, Berea never trailed Covenant again for the rest of the game. At the half, the Mountaineers only allowed the Scots to score 15 points to their 37. Starting the third quarter, Covenant's Karis McIntosh made a three-pointer, and she led the way for the Scots with 19 points. Also helping her team out was Abby Witt with eight points and five boards.Â
Berea College will have another conference match-up at the Seabury Center on January 28th against Wesleyan College. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m.
