JACKSON, Ms. - The Berea College women's volleyball team traveled to Mississippi for a conference tri-match and emerged victorious with wins over host Belhaven University and Agnes Scott College.
Against Belhaven, Berea captured the 3-0 win with the second set being the closest score, 25-23.
Julie Santana led the match with 10 kills and
Brenda Davila led in aces having six. Idymel Ayala-Rivera recorded 15 assists. Leading the Mountaineers defensively was
Alexis McCullough who had 11 digs.
Berea College also went 3-0 against Agnes Scott College with dominating performance, totaling 29 kills and 15 aces. Of those kills,
Julie Santana led Berea with 8.
Tiya Crawford led in aces (6) and
Brenda Davila notched three blocks to lead the team.
The wins set up a huge conference tri-match next weekend in Demorest, Georgia, when the women's volleyball team faces Piedmont University and Huntingdon College.
