Drea Satori netted 10 points while dishing out six assists to lead the Berea College women's basketball team past Edgewood 54-35 Saturday afternoon.
The Mountaineers jumped out to an early lead and led for most of the contest despite shooting just 27% from the floor. Berea forced 23 turnovers, which led to 19 fast-break points to control the tempo of the game. Sophomore
LynKaylah James grabbed 12 boards and scored seven points while junior guards
Jayden Merriweather and
Dailyn Spalding added eight points each.
The Mountaineers concluded play in the Gratz Park Private Wealth Holiday Tournament hosted by Transylvania University with a 1-1 record. Satori finished tournament play with 19 points and 11 assists to earn recognition on the All-Tournament team.
Berea (7-2) will have a few days off before opening conference play next Tuesday in the Seabury Center. The Mountaineers will host Covenant College at 3:00 PM.
