BEREA, KY – The Berea College Mountaineers faced off against Mount St. Joseph at the Seabury Center, ultimately falling in three competitive sets with scores of 17-25, 22-25, and 22-25.
Senior
Deanna De La Torre led the Mountaineers' offense with 11 kills and an impressive .375 hitting percentage, while also contributing 6 digs and a service ace.
Alexis McCullough made a strong impact as well, recording 10 kills with a .292 hitting percentage and adding 9 digs on defense.
Adrianna Ocasio Fonseca supported the attack with 4 kills and a block assist. Setter
Idymel Ayala Rivera facilitated the team's playmaking with 10 assists, while
Brianna Negron Torres contributed 18 assists and 4 digs.
Defensive highlights included
Nashaliz Garcia with 2 kills and a block assist, alongside
Zoe Fields, who provided a consistent presence with 6 digs.
The Mountaineers will look to bounce back in their next away game at Earlham College in Richmond, IN, on November 6.
