Box Score BEREA, KY- Berea College clinches their place in tomorrow's Collegiate Conference of the South Women's Basketball Championship behind an outstanding performance from guard
Drea Satori.
Player of the year
LynKaylah James and defensive standout Daylin Spalding scored 10 of the opening 16 points as
Drea Satori pulled off continuous layups to follow.
Madison Howell would toss in a three of her own near the end of the quarter leading Berea to a 24-18 lead over
Maryville.
Satori would put in more free throws as
Maryville would close the gap and even take the lead before Berea would swiftly regain control after a
Jayden Merriweather three pointer.
Kayla McClendon would also go down and score back-to-back three-point goals to put Berea up 35-29.
Third quarter would open with consecutive threes from
Jayden Merriweather and
Drea Satori as Berea would jump out to a 53-32 lead. Satori would add salt to injury after she pulled off a step back three-pointer near the end of the third quarter.
Satori would continue to thrive after she scored
through contact and made a series of free throws.
Madison Howell would also make another three near the
middle of the fourth
Quarter. McClendon would close the game out with a three-point basket, though the game wasn't tight.
Berea would defeat
Maryville by a score of 74-48. Standout players include
Drea Satori who scored 25 points, had 7 assist, and went 7-8 on her free throws.
LynKaylah James would end with 10 rebounds and 8 points.
Jayden Merriweather would end with 5 steals and 9 points. Berea will look to defend their title in tomorrow's game at 3pm at home.
