Wilmore, KY- Softball traveled to face Asbury University in a double header matchup. The Mountaineers lost both games, with the scores being 1-18 and 3-10.
 
Game One: Berea 1, Asbury University 18
 
At the top of the first inning, the Mountaineers got on the board with a single from Mackenzie Howell advanced Julie Santana to second base, Maya Meads to third, and scored Maggie Dickson. At the bottom of the first inning, Asbury answered back by scoring five runs. Going into the second inning, both Berea and Asbury were scoreless. The Mountaineers remained scoreless for the rest of the game, but Asbury University scored 7 in the bottom of the third inning and six in the bottom of the fourth. The final score of the game was 18-1, with Asbury taking Game 1. 
 
Game Two: Berea 3, Asbury University 10
 
At the top of the first inning, the Mountaineers scored one run with a single from Aubrey Sowders, which scored Maya Meads. Asbury didn't hesitate to answer back by also putting on one run on the board. With a scoreless second inning for the Mountaineers, Asbury scored 3 runs, making the score of the game 4-1. Both teams were scoreless going into the third inning. At the top of the fourth inning, the Mountaineers cut down Asbury's lead by scoring two runs. Asbury kept adding one, scoring four runs in the bottom of the fourth. The Mountaineers were scoreless for the rest of the game, but Asbury added two runs to their lead, making the final score of the game 10-3.
 
The Mountaineers next game will be against Huntingdon College on March 24, 2024.
