Wilmore, KY - Berea Baseball drops a hard-fought matchup against Asbury University losing 7-13 on Monday afternoon.

The Mountaineers are now 2-6 overall. Berea recorded six hits on the day.

After the Mountaineers go scoreless in the top of the 1st inning, Asbury scores five runs in the bottom of the 1st. Asbury then proceeds to score one more run in the 2nd inning. In the top of the 3rd, the Mountaineers bats got hot with Berea scoring four runs.
Jay Nunez scored off a SAC fly RBI from
Fredison Rivera.
AJ Wylie scored next after
Jayden Junta singles to center field.
Michael Vazquez then proceeded to score the third run of the inning from an RBI-Single from
Marcelo Manrique. Jay Junta scored the final run of the inning after a wild pitch.

After a scoreless 4th inning, the score is 4-6 going into the 5th inning. In the top of the 5th, Micheal Vazquez scored off a single from
Giovanny Ortiz. In the bottom of the 5th, Asbury proceeded to score six more runs. Asbury scored one more run in the 6th inning to make the score 5-13 after six innings. Berea scored the final two runs of the contest after
Fredison Rivera hit a 2 RBI-Single to right field allowing
Rafael Ramos-Davila and
Patrick Phillips to score. The Mountaineers would fall with the final score of 7-13.
