Berea, KY- The Mountaineers faced a defeated, but strong battle in a home volleyball game against the nationally ranked University of the Cumberlands Patriots. The Mountaineers lost the first set 25-23 and winning the second 26-24. The Mountaineers rallied up a total of 8 blocks to Cumberlands 2, the blocks came from Nashaliz Garcia (5), Miranda Wennhold (2), and Deanna De La Torre (1). The Mountaineers had a number of digs from Alexis McCullough (16), Deanna De La Torre (13), and Idymel Ayala Rivera (12).



In the next match, the Mountaineers played Johnson Tennessee losing 0-3. Despite the loss the Mountaineers still had some aces and kills throughout the game from Idymel Ayala Rivera (1), Adrianna Fonseca Ocasio (1), and Daniella Corona (1). Alexis McCullough (7), Daniella Corona (6), and Aryanna Erosa (5) came together to total up 18 kills this game.
 
The Mountaineer's will be back in action on September 11^th in Wilmore, KY when they face Asbury University.
