Mountaineers Struggle in Second Half Against Bluffton

The men's basketball team returned to action this past Wednesday for their annual Blue Christmas game, taking on conference opponent Bluffton. The Mountaineers came out strong, building an eight-point lead and heading into halftime ahead 45–37. However, the momentum shifted in the second half, as Bluffton outscored the Mountaineers 48–27 to secure an 85–72 victory.

Junior Jae'dyn Gist led the Mountaineers with 19 points and six rebounds. He was supported by Bryce Riley, who recorded 14 points and nine rebounds, Jaylen Black with 12 points and three assists, and Zach Hudson, who added 10 points and four assists.
With the loss, the Mountaineers fall to 4–6 overall and 1–3 in conference play. They will look to regroup after the break when they travel to Centre College for the Lees Holiday Classic, where they will face non-conference opponents Wabash College and Thomas College.
