WOMEN'S BASKETBALL WEEK 15 RECAP

MOUNTAINEERS END SEASON WITH TWO TOUGH LOSSES IN WEEK 15
Game 1: Lions Upset Mountaineers in 61-55 Conference Game

Location: Cincinnati, OH
The Mountaineers faced off against the Mount St. Joseph Lions in Cincinnati, Ohio. Starting strong, Berea scored 14 points in the first quarter, leading MSJ 14-11. However, the Lions fought back in the second quarter, outscoring the Mounties 26-14 and taking a significant lead into halftime.

After the break, Berea came out with determination, scoring 16 points in the third quarter while holding the Lions to just 5 points. Despite their effort, the Lions secured the win with a solid fourth quarter, scoring 19 points to the Mountaineers' 11, finalizing the score at 61-55. Drea Satori led the team with 13 points and 2 assists, while LynKaylah James recorded a strong double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds. Dailyn Spalding contributed with 7 points and 8 rebounds.

Game 2: Mounties Put Up a Strong Fight Despite 53-66 Loss Against Hanover College
Location: Hanover, IN
The Mountaineers traveled to the John Collier Arena in Hanover, Indiana, to compete against the Panthers in their final conference tournament game. Hanover got off to a quick start, scoring 18 points to Berea's 13 in the first quarter. The Panthers maintained their pressure in the second quarter, outscoring the Mountaineers 23-11.

After halftime, Berea found their rhythm, taking the third quarter 15-13. The Mountaineers continued to apply pressure in the fourth, scoring 14 points compared to Hanover's 12. However, it wasn't enough to secure the win, with the final score ending at 66-53. Senior Drea Satori led the charge with 16 points, 3 assists, and 5 rebounds, while fellow senior Dailyn Spalding added 15 points and 7 rebounds. LynKaylah James also made an impact, scoring 12 points and grabbing 8 rebounds.
