The Berea College Men's Cross-Country team opened their 2025 season at home with a determined performance in the 5K meet on August 30. Facing strong competition, the Mountaineers finished 5th overall with a team score of 138 points, recording a total time of 1:31:38 and an average of 18:19 per runner.
Sophomore
Taiki Ogawa led the team with an impressive 20th-place finish, crossing the line in 16:37.8. Junior
Austin Gatewood was next for Berea, taking 49th place with a time of 18:30.1, followed closely by freshman
Kellen Young in 50th at 18:33.1. Freshman Levi Ferguson-Oles ran to 53rd place in 18:53.0, and freshman
Nathaniel Mitchell rounded out the scoring five, finishing 56th in 19:05.2.
Junior
Jaron Rhea and freshman
Ian Taylor completed Berea's top seven, placing 60th (19:21.2) and 62nd (19:31.8), respectively.
