Game 1: Berea Draws with Midway University 2-2
The Berea College women's soccer team kicked off the 2025 season with a 2-2 draw against Midway University on August 26.
Heather Mendoza opened the scoring for Berea in the 13th minute, but Midway equalized before halftime. In the second half,
Sara Knight put Berea back in the lead with a goal in the 79th minute, assisted by
Danitza Roldan. However, Midway responded five minutes later to level the match again. Berea registered 12 shots with six on target, while goalkeepers
Elana Horne and
Addison McLaughlin combined for eight saves.

Game 2: Berea Secures a Win Over Ohio Christian University 2-1
Berea earned their first victory of the season on August 29, defeating Ohio Christian University 2-1.
Sara Knight once again opened the scoring in the 31st minute, and after an OCU equalizer,
Jayla Heckler scored the winning goal in the 84th minute, assisted by
Jessica Powell. The Mountaineers dominated possession, out shooting OCU 20-8 and securing six corner kicks. Goalkeeper
Elana Horne contributed to the win with five saves.
Game 3: Berea Falls to Johnson University (TN) 5-0
 The week concluded with a tough 5-0 defeat against Johnson University (TN) on August 30. The visiting Royals scored three goals in the first half and two more in the second. Despite generating 11 shots, with six on goal, Berea was unable to penetrate Johnson's defense. Goalkeeper
Addison McLaughlin faced 19 shots and made six saves for the Mountaineers.
The Mountaineers aim to regroup and gather momentum in their upcoming match against Kentucky Christian University on September 5 in Grayson, KY.
