WOMEN'S BASKETBALL WEEK 8 RECAP

Berea College Women's Basketball: Perfect Week at Home

Berea College women's basketball went 2–0 at home this week, earning conference victories over Earlham and Manchester to continue its strong stretch of play.


Game 1: Mountaineers vs. Earlham

The Mountaineers opened the week on Wednesday, January 7, with a 70–62 win over Earlham. LynKaylah James led the way with a dominant double-double, finishing with 16 points and 14 rebounds. Atyia Moss added 13 points and five rebounds, while Madison Howell contributed 13 points. Payton Bugg recorded seven points and five assists, and Ariyana Sutton chipped in seven points to help secure the win.


Game 2: Mountaineers vs. Manchester

Berea followed up with another convincing victory on Saturday, January 10, defeating Manchester 83–62. James once again paced the offense with 22 points, while Ariyana Sutton had a strong all-around performance with 19 points and five assists. Madison Howell earned Player of the Game honors, finishing with 14 points, four assists, and five rebounds. Payton Bugg added nine points, and Atyia Moss contributed seven points and six rebounds as Berea pulled away in the second half.


Up Next:

Berea hits the road for two conference matchups next week, traveling to Mount St. Joseph on Wednesday, January 14, at 7 p.m., followed by a Saturday afternoon contest at Bluffton on January 17 at 1 p.m.
