Mountaineers Finish Eighth at HCAC Preview: Battle at Belterra
FLORENCE, Ind. — The Berea College men's golf team wrapped up its fall season at the HCAC Preview: Battle at Belterra on Oct. 24–25, finishing eighth overall with a team score of +129. The Mountaineers posted a +67 in the first round before finishing with a +62 in the second round.

Benjamin Parsons led Berea individually, tying for 32nd place at +21. Parsons shot an 85 in the opening round before improving by seven strokes with a 78 in the second round, the lowest round for a Berea golfer during the tournament.
Stephen Hensley finished tied for 41st at +27, shooting an 84 in the first round and an 85 in the second. Isaiah Newby placed 43rd at +30 after carding an 82 in the opening round and a 90 in the second. Ezra Smith rounded out the Mountaineers' lineup, finishing 46th at +51 with rounds of 100 and 93.
Berea finished eighth in the team standings, while Capital took first place at +16 and Franklin finished second at +17. The Mountaineers improved their team score by five strokes in the second round to close out their fall schedule.
The Mountaineers will now prepare for the spring season, looking to build on their experience and continue improving when they return to competition.
