Baseball Recap: Mountaineers Travel to Brevard College for Two-Game Series
Baseball traveled to Brevard College in North Carolina for a two-game series, hoping to improve on last week's performances, but ended with similar results.
Game 1: Mountaineers vs. Brevard College
The opening game was scheduled for seven innings and ended in a 10–0 loss for the Mountaineers. Berea only managed two hits in the contest, coming from Michael Mauney and Landen Griffey.
Game 2: Mountaineers vs. Brevard College
The second game of the series was much more competitive. Despite giving up three runs in the first inning, Berea kept the score at 0-3 through the first five innings, offering hope for their first win of the season. However, Brevard's depth showed as they broke the game open, scoring nine runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, ultimately securing a 12–0 victory in seven innings. Giovanny Ortiz led the Mountaineers offensively with two hits, while Miguel Serra recorded the team's third and final hit of the game.
