Men's Track and Field Recap: Berea College Competes at Landon Bond Classic

Berea College commenced the Landon Bond Classic by honoring its four male seniors: Nick Alston, Nathan Goodpastor, Robert Russell, and Joshua Patel. Following this celebration, both field and running events featured several memorable performances, highlighted by top 10 finishes in many events.

Berea's top performance came in the 400-meter hurdles, where freshman Jaylin Drummer placed 2nd with a time of 1:00.60. On the track, freshman Thomas Vaughn added to the team's success with a strong 3rd-place finish in the 200 meters, clocking in at 22.88 seconds. Junior Arphaxad Nyabuto also had a solid performance, finishing 4th in the 400 meters with a time of 53.17 seconds.

In distance competition, sophomore Taiki Ogawa led the Mountaineers with an 8th-place finish in the 5000 meters, recording a time of 16:27.86.

In the field events, freshman Leroy Freeman III posted Berea's top marks, finishing 6th in the triple jump with a distance of 12.46 meters and 7th in the long jump at 6.01 meters. Freshman Micha Woolridge also delivered a commendable performance, placing 6th in the javelin with a throw of 39.47 meters.

Berea College will travel to Atlanta, Georgia, to compete in the Emory Dooley Invite on April 4th.
