Mountaineers Struggle in Four Games Against Tennessee Wesleyan and Bluffton
Berea College softball played four games this week, going 0–4 in matchups against Tennessee Wesleyan and Bluffton.
Game 1: Mountaineers vs. Tennessee Wesleyan UniversityÂ
The Mountaineers hosted Tennessee Wesleyan University on Wednesday, April 4. In Game 1, Berea fell 2–0 in a close defensive battle, with Candice Williams recording four strikeouts in the circle. The Searcy twins each contributed one hit, along with Kelly Wiard, Candice Williams, and Mackenzie Howell.
Game 2: Mountaineers vs. Tennessee Wesleyan UniversityÂ
In Game 2, Berea found its offensive rhythm early but came up just short in a 5–4 loss. Emily Searcy and Jessyca Searcy each recorded one RBI, while Emily Searcy, Madison Howell, Candice Williams, and Josie Hollingsworth each scored a run. Kelly Wiard added three strikeouts to her performance in this game.
Game 1: Mountaineers at Bluffton UniversityÂ
Berea then traveled to face Bluffton University on Saturday, April 11. In the first game, the Mountaineers fell 8–0, with Candice Williams recording one strikeout.
Game 2: Mountaineers at Bluffton UniversityÂ
In Game 2, Berea lost 14–0, as Williams again tallied one strikeout. Mackenzie Howell led the offense with two hits in the contest.

Berea returns home on Wednesday, April 15, to face Earlham College in a doubleheader, with games scheduled for 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM.
