Mountaineers Encounter Tough Series Against Transylvania Pioneers
Berea baseball was back in action this past weekend as they traveled to Lexington to take on conference opponent Transylvania University.
Game 1: Mountaineers vs. Transylvania
Berea struggled to recapture the success of last week's victory, starting the first game down 8 runs after the first inning. Transylvania did not look back, holding the Mountaineers scoreless in the opener and ultimately winning 19–0. The team only recorded two hits, which came from Sebastian Roman and Giovanny Ortiz.
Game 2: Mountaineers vs. Transylvania
The second game followed a similar pattern, with Berea managing only four total hits while the Pioneers scored 6 runs in the first two innings. The Mountaineers were once again unable to generate any offense in this lopsided series, as Transylvania went on to win this game 13–0.
